Spruce Grove RCMP are warning the public to be vigilant after a high risk sex offender was released from custody on Sunday.  Gary Joseph Robins did 564 days in prison for sexual interference.  In an official news release, RCMP made this statement:

Gary Robins has a lengthy criminal history of committing sexual offences against females under the age of 16 years within the Province of Alberta.  This individual represents a significant risk to sexually offend against female children and poses a considerable threat in the community.

Robins is 44 years old, has brown hair and blue eyes, is aproximately 6 feet tall, and weighs 160 pounds.  Police say that he intends to live in Spruce Grove, and that they will be going door to door in the neighborhood where he resides.  He is restricted from engaging in any activity with children under 14, including using a computer to communicate with them.  He is also banned from other locations where children under 14 might be present: public parks, schools, day cares, and swimming pools.
