New trees in Spruce Grove’s Rotary Park

Partnership between City and Rotary
The east boundary of Rotary Centennial Park has a new row of trees and shrubs thanks to a partnership between the City of Spruce Grove and Tree Canada.
Tree Canada partially funded the project through a financial contribution from pipeline company Kinder Morgan. The City’s contribution consists mainly of in-kind services to plant and maintain the rose bushes and the lilac, maple and aspen trees, which will serve as a buffer along Campsite Road.
Members of Spruce Grove City Council joined representatives from Tree Canada and Kinder Morgan to mark the planting of the trees and shrubs. On hand for the occasion were (left to right) Aldermen Wayne Rothe and Randy Palivoda, Peter Murphy of Tree Canada, Mayor Stuart Houston, Mike Nelson of Kinder Morgan and Aldermen Bill Steinburg and Glenn Jensen.
